JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Coast Guard rescued two boaters from a sinking boat on Lake Ontario.

A rescue crew from the Sackets Harbor station responded to a mayday call in the area of Stony Point around 1:40 p.m. Saturday. This picture, taken by that crew, shows rescuers pumping water out of the boat to keep it afloat. They were able to get it towed to a marina in Henderson.

Officials say the two boaters on board were wearing life jackets and they were able to get help because they had a marine radio.
