PENNSYLVANIA -- The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is facing some criticism after it failed to include one of the state's top natural gas producers in its latest reports.
The DEP never mentioned that it did not include Chesapeake Energy in its bi-annual totals. Experts say the omission makes the numbers far from accurate and could pose a serious problem.
One senior oil and gas analysis called the incident “totally unprofessional.”
A DEP spokesman released a statement Monday saying it's up to those who use the data to make their own interpretations.
