ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police are investigating what appears to be a tragic accident on the St. Lawrence River. 57-year-old Christopher Tobiasz, 57, of Pennsylvania was water skiing with family members Monday near Chippewa Bay.

As he was trying to re-enter the rear of the boat, police say he was struck in the leg by the propeller. He was brought ashore and then taken to River Hospital in Alexandria Bay where he was pronounced dead.
