PHOENIX, N.Y. -- In Oswego County, firefighters battled intense flames along Dix Drive Thursday afternoon.
According to investigators, the fire started in a bathroom and it was tough to put out. The home suffered severe damage, with the roof caving in.
Firefighters also faced some tough challenges.
"The electric wires came down the entrance cable, we started to attack the fire, with an oxygen tank exploding in the front bedroom. There are no injuries," said Phoenix Fire Department Deputy Chief Dan Dunn.
Firefighters say they got a quick response from volunteers, even with the holiday. The cause is still under investigation.
