SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Family and friends are trying to raise money for three-month-old Easton Friedel who has been in the news since he was born with a rare skin disease known as EB. It's a genetic skin disorder that a rare skin condition that causes skin to blister when it's touched.

According to their Facebook page, Easton is expected to be discharged from Upstate sometime Wednesday. He will require extensive medical care for the rest of his life. Many of his supplies and medical expenses are not covered by insurance.

Admission to the fundraiser is $15 per person or $25 per couple. In addition to food, there will be live music and a silent auction.

"You see a situation like this and you can't help but want to give back in some form or fashion. And when you see a family like that who has three kids already and the fourth was obviously born with this unfortunate disease, you want to be able to give back. When you talk to people in the community, everyone's so supportive," fundraiser organizer Dan Bennett said.

The fundraiser will be Wednesday, December 5th from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Palace Theatre in Syracuse. All proceeds will go to the Friedel family to help offset ongoing medical expenses.

Donations can also be made directly to the Friedel family by visiting Easton’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SupportBabyEastonFriedel.
