NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- SU football fans are getting excited about the team's second bowl game in three years.

Head coach Dough Marrone and athletic director Darryl Gross traveled to New York City to officially accept an invitation to the Pinstripe Bowl. The Orange will be taking on an old rival, the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Syracuse played in the Pinstripe bowl two years ago, beating Kansas State. Coach Marrone says it will be a special experience for fans, alumni and his team.

"Most importantly for me, our kids, pretty much a majority of our team is from this area. Their families are going to be able to go. And in my opinion, play in the greatest venue in all of sports, throughout the whole world. At Yankee Stadium," Marrone said.

Kickoff will be on Saturday, December 29th. The game will be at 3:15 p.m. on ESPN.
