SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Not everyone will be lucky enough to see the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in person, but SU fans are getting an up-close look at what the Orange will be fighting for on December 29th. The George M. Steinbrenner Trophy is stopping in the Syracuse area.
From Fayetteville to the Carrier Dome, the trophy is making the rounds. We caught up with it at the Schine Student center on campus, where fans had their picture taken with the coveted prize.
SU left Yankees Stadium in the Bronx with a win two years ago. This year, SU battles it out with former Big East rival West Virginia.
"You guys already have a trophy in your trophy case as I saw this morning in Manley, but we wanted to get here for the game on Saturday and drum up some interest at the Carrier Dome, and certainly make sure as many students see it as possible," said Greg Marino, New Era Pinstripe Bowl Manager.
The trophy will be in the area through Saturday. Fans who make it out to see the trophy are encouraged to use social media, with the hash tags #SUpinstripe and #OrangeNation.
