CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- Authorities are still trying to figure the cause of a deadly crash in the Town of Ashland. It happened along State Route 427 just after noon on Saturday.

According to investigators, a car went off the road and slammed into a tree. Two people had to be rescued from the vehicle by emergency crews.

Brett Casselberry, 33, of Elmira, died from his injuries.

The driver, Hillary Sullivan, 22, of Bath, remains in critical condition.
