Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies say two-year-old Danielle Cashaw passed away Thursday afternoon, after three days in the hospital.

She was allegedly assaulted by Sharif Hamilton, 21, who was living with the girl and her mother at Orchard Estates. Hamilton was arrested Monday on charges of first degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. However, further charges are expected to be filed following an investigation by the District Attorney's office.

For now, Hamilton is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on $100,000 bail.
