SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Part of Interstate 81 North in Syracuse has opened ahead of schedule.
The highway was closed to traffic at exit 18 starting Friday night and was scheduled to reopen Monday morning.
Crews were working to repair the bridge deck near the Interstate 690 interchange after inspectors found loose concrete. The DOT says thanks to favorable conditions and rapid set concrete, they were able to finish work quickly.
The highway reopened to traffic Sunday morning.
