Bricklayers recovering from four-story fall
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Two construction workers remain hospitalized after Ithaca Police say they fell about four stories down an elevator shaft. It happened at the Fairfield Inn on Elmira Road early Saturday morning.
Investigators say the two bricklayers were working above an elevator shaft when the scaffolding they were working on fell through the floor. Both men had to be airlifted to a hospital. One of them remains in critical condition, while the other was listed in stable condition.
OSHA is expected to join the investigation.
