UTICA, N.Y. -- An Oneida County man was run over and killed by his own truck Monday morning.

Utica police say William Pope, 28, from Blossvale, left his truck in gear at the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority. Pope tried to get back to the truck and tripped, landing under the vehicle.

Emergency crews rushed Pope to St. Elizabeth's Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police have not determined an exact cause of death yet.
