NORTH COUNTRY, N.Y. -- It wasn’t an easy commute in the North Country Monday.

A tractor trailer jackknifed on Interstate 81, right at the entrance to a rest area in the Town of Ellisburg. The driver was taken to Samaritan Medical Center for observation.

Meanwhile, a driver in his brand new pickup truck skidded off of County Route 62 in Hounsfield, apparently crossing into the opposite lane and hitting the guardrail before flipping down the 15 foot embankment. The driver had a dog with him, who got loose. However both are okay.
