LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- If you're a football fan, this is your big weekend. And with that, the National Retail Federation is estimating that Super Bowl spending is going to reach about $12.3 billion.
It's estimated roughly about 74 percent of game watchers will buy food and beverages for the big game.
About 17 million intend to buy team apparel while about 7.5 million people plan to buy decorations for Super Bowl XLVII.
At Wegmans, they've been taking in plenty of pre-orders for pizza, subs, and wings that they'll make right here on game day.
When it comes to the snacks, grocery stores have been stocking up on all the favorites as increased sales are the norm.
Store officials say there's a little something for everyone when it comes to pleasing your tastebuds as you watch the game.
Wegmans Public Relations Director Evelyn Carter said, "Recognizing that the Super Bowl is in New Orleans this year, we do have a Mardi Gras theme in a lot of our snack items so that you'll see different types of variety of New Orleans style, or Cajun style variety of snacks again that we're offering for our customers in order to celebrate the Super Bowl in New Orleans."
You can expect local grocery stores like Wegmans and others to be very busy through the weekend so use patience. Also, remember if you're planning on hosting a party this Sunday, it's always best to place a pre-order today or as soon as possible.
