ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell men's lacrosse team held its first practice of the year on Friday and enjoyed a very welcome sight: senior attack Rob Pannell back on the field at full-strength.

Pannell, one of the best offensive players in the country, suffered a broken foot in the second game of the 2012 season and his absence was a big reason the Big Red missed the NCAA tournament. After being granted a medical redshirt for a second senior year Pannell is looking to make up for lost time and the team is looking to get back to being the perennial power it is accustomed to being.

Cornell hosts a scrimmage with UAlbany next Saturday then opens its regular season Feb. 24 against Hobart at home.
