Deputy named new undersheriff
JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 15-year veteran of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has been named the new Undersheriff.
Sheriff John Burns announced Friday that the new position has been filled by Deputy Sheriff Paul Trudeau. On top of his service with the sheriff's office, Trudeau spent several years with the New York State Correctional division, and is also a 20 year military vet.
Trudeau's promotion comes after allegations surrounding previous Undersheriff Andrew Neff. Neff was suspended in October of last year after a woman claimed Neff sexually harassed her.
