GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. -- A St. Lawrence County man is dead after a late night house fire.

Crews first responded to the home on 66 Austin Street in the Village of Gouverneur around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. The house was fully engulfed in flames and smoke.

Police say Brian Mandigo was eventually found inside and taken to the hospital where we was pronounced dead. No one else was in the house.

Autopsy results are pending.

The cause remains under investigation.
