SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After rotating goalies at the start of last season the Syracuse men's lacrosse team enters this year with a set No. 1 between the pipes: sophomore Bobby Wardwell.
The Orange rotated goalies for the first half of last year and several times had one goalie play one half and another play the other. Wardwell took over at the midway point and started the final nine games, posting a 5-4 record with a .525 save percentage.
Syracuse opens the season Sunday against UAlbany at the Carrier Dome at 4 p.m. The game is part of a doubleheader with the top-ranked women's team playing Maryland at 1 p.m. Both games will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
