JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. – A dazzling display of quilts dating back to the mid-1800s are on exhibit at the Jefferson County Historical Society.
The Textile Treasure exhibit features various quilts, several of which are from Harry Tyler, a local Jefferson County quilter.
Officials at the museum say you don't have to know a stitch about quilting to enjoy the exhibit.
"We have many wonderful quits dating back to the 1800s and even if you're not a quilter, just the wonder of the design and colors and patterns and you enjoy art, it's a wonderful place to experience," said Bill Wood.
Harry Tyler's works are featured in a number of national museums including the Smithsonian and for those who may not know Tyler's work, he marks his quilts with either a lion or an eagle, representing England or America.
