SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It wasn't the end Syracuse University fans were hoping for. The Orange came up short in their final home matchup against Georgetown Saturday.

The game marked the final time the rivals will face off in the Carrier Dome as members of the Big East Conference.

Syracuse joins the ACC next season. Both teams were highly ranked heading into the game, with Syracuse University eighth and Georgetown 11th in the nation.

A record crowd of more than 35,000 watched as the Hoyas came out on top, winning 57 to 46.

But while they won't be at the Dome again anytime soon, the Orange will have another chance for revenge.

The rivals will face off again to close out the regular season on March 9th in Washington, D.C.
