TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Western New York man accused of robbing multiple businesses across the Twin Tiers this week is now in police custody.

Tioga County Sheriff's Deputies arrested John Malowsky, 62, of Attica on Wednesday after they say he robbed a CVS in the Village of Owego. They responded to the pharmacy just after 7:30 p.m. and saw Malowsky leaving the store.

Deputies say he threatened them with a knife and ran off. They eventually caught up with him, and there was a struggle as he was taken into custody.

Malowsky was taken to a local hospital after suffering a broken arm.

State Police say Malowsky is also the man responsible for the armed robberies at a tanning salon in Corning and a clothing store in Big Flats on Tuesday. In both incidents, Malowsky is accused of displaying a knife and demanding money from employees before getting away with cash. Police say he also robbed a Sally Beauty Supply store in Batavia on February 9th.

Malowsky is facing charges for all four robberies.
