CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two men were arraigned in Chemung County Court in connection with a 20-year-old woman's death back in May.
Both Brion Peters and Gary Varlan are facing charges of second degree manslaughter for the death of 20-year-old Kanisha Wood. According to court papers, Wood was killed back on May 8th when volatile substances used to manufacture meth exploded on a hot stove inside a cabin in the Town of Baldwin.
In addition to the manslaughter charges, Peters and Varlan are also facing charges for unlawfully manufacturing methamphetamine.
Peters was sent to Chemung County Jail on $200,000 bail. Varlan is also being held on $100,000 bail.
They are both due to appear back in court on October 7th.
