SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A judge issued a not guilty plea today for the woman accused of being drunk when she killed a pedestrian with her car on Wednesday. Te Sa, 41, is being held on $25,000 cash or bond bail and the judge suspended her license.

Investigators said Te Sa hit a parked car on East Division Street on Wednesday. They said her Toyota became wedged with a Hyundai, and when she backed up to try and get free, her car shot backwards at a high rate of speed, striking Anna Russo-Young, 41, on the sidewalk.

Russo-Young was pinned between the car and a concrete block wall before police said Sa pulled forward and then backed up, striking Russo-Young for a second time. Police said Sa tried to drive away but a witness stopped her.

Russo-Young died after being taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Sa is charged with vehicular manslaughter and DWI. She is due back in court on March 20th.
