AFGHANISTAN -- Two Fort Drum soldiers were killed last week in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense says Lt. David Rylander, 23, and Specialist Junot Cochilus, 34, died last Wednesday. They were in Logar province when insurgents attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device.

Rylander was from Stow, Ohio and Cochilus was from Charlotte, North Carolina. Both were assigned to the 7th Engineer Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade.
